Frequently asked questions

Boston, MA

Lots of you are probably discovering or re-discovering team handball at the occasion of the Olympics. Yes, it is the best sport in the world! Here are our answers to the most common questions that we get:

I have never played team handball before. Can I still join your club?

Absolutely! Our club welcomes both experienced players as well as beginners – for both our men’s and women’s teams. We invite you to come practice with us and then decide if you want to join for the season. To stay up to date with announcements about practice, subscribe to the mailing list (the tab on the right of this website). This is our preferred channel of communication.

When is the first practice?

Exact dates will be announced shortly on the website and through the mailing list.
The first indoor practice is scheduled for mid-September. We will start the outdoor physical preparation after Labor Day.

By then… we play beach handball in Revere.

I live in Dudley, Mass and was wondering if there are any teams near me.

Boston (BTH) is the only New England Team at the moment. We compete in the Northeast League and occasionaly against Canadian (Quebec) teams.

My son is 15. Do you have a youth handball program?

We currently don’t have any youth program, but our objective is to build one in the coming months/ years. That being said, we have a few young players (15- and 16-year old) who already practice and play with us. If your son has already played handball before, he can come and try out.

I know very little about handball. How can I learn more about it?

The best way is to watch some games to get familiar with the rules and spirit! Here is the NBC Rio Olympic coverage of handball: http://www.nbcolympics.com/handball
